Autumn Budget - November 2025

Autumn Budget - November 2025

The Government’s Autumn Budget was delivered on 26 November 2025, and there was one significant announcement relating to pensions.

It was announced that, from 6 April 2029, National Insurance relief of pension contributions made through salary sacrifice (sometimes referred to as pension salary exchange) will be capped at £2,000 per tax year. This means that contributions above £2,000 will attract employee and employer National Insurance in the normal way. There is no change to your Income Tax relief on pension contributions.

The Trustees of the Scheme and Scottish Enterprise are reviewing the impact that this will have on both employees and Scottish Enterprise, and further details will be provided in due course.
